Graphology at Home, Lesson 1

Graphology is the study of handwriting and what it can tell about the mind behind it.

When people write, it is their hands that write, but their brains write according to commands. There are many cases of people with disabilities who have lost an arm or hand as they write, learn art with the other hand or foot or mouth. Aside from some understandable shaking caused by the difficulty of the work, the writing is similar to a document. Very original. Trained graphic professionals have no problem recognizing the same person.

From this we see that it is the personality that is expressed on paper by handwriting. When a person writes in a form, it represents a specific personality that comes directly from the brain. Thus, graphology reveals the deepest parts of personality.

For example, it does not indicate the age or gender of the author, but it does indicate his maturity and whether his (or her) personality is mostly male or female. Fifty-year-old men or ten-year-olds can develop mature writing because it is the level of maturity that makes them aware that they are not chronologically old. Similarly, some graphic symbols point to a type of “male” personality, but many women write that way and vice versa. Some graphic experts try to pinpoint both of these factors of age or gender, but they are only 60 percent accurate when compared to 90-95 percent accurate when it comes to psychological analysis.

Over the years, graphic experts have sought to find common denominators in the handwriting of a group of people known to characterize certain characters. Having found it, they will conclude that everyone who writes by hand expresses this particular loneliness must have the same personality. If most of the five hundred people writing at the bar lean to the right and have violent personalities, then it is assumed that everyone who writes at the bar to the right has a violent personality.

This is known as the practical approach. Although modern graphics experts do not fully agree with this approach, they believe that practical facts must be handled with care. The fact that most of the people in a particular group write a certain way is not proof that everyone does. It’s just a clue as to what to look for. The characteristics of a single handwriting must be part of the overall analysis and are only useful as a brush in creating the overall image.

The following is a general list of things that graphic designers will look for when analyzing

1. Direction (tendency) of writing

2. Area

3. t bar

4. Points

5. Sex

6. Base line

7. Margin

8. Stroke begins and ends

9. Connect and disconnect writing

10. Form of connection

11. Pressure

12. Loop

13. Letters

14. Personality

15. Signature

16. Physical health

Graphic experts combine the above evidence to create a final analysis. This will be discussed in the following chapters in more detail.

Please note that this course is specifically focused on American subjects. It applies to other nations, but the form of their national handwriting is also taken into account. American students were taught to write with a slight right leaning, and I allowed for this throughout the session. If the writer you want to analyze is from another country, you must be aware of the slowness of natural writing in his hometown and adjust the standard that will be used there to that angle. For example, if he goes to a school in England where students are taught to write at a vertical angle, you have to emphasize more if his writing turns to the right than I have given here, and less A little if his writing is slow. Left.
