"It Might Have Been" – The Saddest Words of Tongue Or Pen

American poet John Greenleaf Whittier once famously reflected. “For the saddest words of the tongue or pen are these:” It may be “These words are especially important today, as modern life is plagued by fear, insecurity, and constant social and commercial change. In developed countries, finding others for supply is a contemporary phenomenon that was born in the 20th century and expanded rapidly in the early 21st century.

For most individuals of human history and small families are entirely responsible for hunting, gathering and protecting their individuals from the elements. No one retires. There are no labor laws unless you have a better job and your production and your family’s supply. Vacation is not known. Laziness will lead to dismissal from the family unit and will likely lead to starvation.

Of course, to this day, most people in the world still live their lives as farmers, farmers or fishermen. They start working as soon as they can walk and work until they die. Anthropologists have studied these populations and noted that overall they seem to be more satisfied and satisfied with the pleasures of the simplest life than the citizens of the more affluent development areas.

What makes modern people living in an industrialized country so upset? The relative diversity of needs and opportunities to access these items, subsidized or provided free of charge, created a social rights.

This right mindset means that many of us, not all of us, are sure, but many of us have lost our lives to live life to the fullest, risking our lives to be brave, sometimes falling, but always getting up and struggling the other day. It is easier for these people to blame others, and when they see the abundance around them, they feel and demand this bonus, even if they do not contribute to its creation.

I find this waste of talent, energy and personal fulfillment disgusting. As Whittier rightly said; “Probably.” That it probably means it is not. Opportunity is lost for these souls. Life goes through and sadness; Remorse and bitterness for the injustices and uncertainties of life almost always blame others.

I recently attended the funeral of an old friend. Life is not good for acquaintances throughout this life. As is often the case at funerals and when waking up, friends and family discuss my departed friends and tell stories about their love life and experiences. Sadly, when I traveled from one of his oldest friends to his family, he was remembered lovingly but also deeply saddened. This sadness proved that when many people talked about the frustration of the departed man, his blue shirt work and unfulfilled dreams turned him into a sad and bitter old man.

This man has raised a family, works in a nice little house, goes to church, drives his own car and has all the modern appliances in life: air conditioning, telephone. Color TV, washing machine, dryer, etc. He is one of the richest men in world history. But he had and always expressed deep regret for the path his life had taken. He is an unsatisfactory creator. When he dies, his home workshops are full of samples and demonstrations of the products he has created and wants to bring to market. “Maybe” if only my old friend could step in and commit himself to fulfill his dream.

In my business consulting, marketing and product development business, we meet all kinds of people looking to trade their ideas and innovations. Many ideas are bad or have other problems. However, many offer real attractions and business opportunities. But very few, if any, will have the opportunity to see the consumer market. The dreamer who chooses to find a reason not fully committed to success is self-deception.

I could not have imagined facing the end of my life and regretted that I had let life go through me without playing the game of life as fully as possible. The famous WC Fields grave reads, “I would rather be here than in Philadelphia.” Too many people should have a grave that says, “It probably is.”
