Interview With Gareth Jones (Gaz-Top) Regarding Retro Gaming and TV

Interview with Gareth Jones:

Q1 – You have worked on many TVs, radios and internet applications both in front and behind the camera. How to lead a GamePad ranking in your career?

Apparently Violet was a motivating tool in directing the entire series, the first time I had a job at the top of the program. In doing so, I learned a lot about creating a TV that kept me at work for 10 years. Lately, I have learned a bit remarkably about the gameplay in the process.

Q2 – GamePad came when there was a lack of on-air video game TV shows. Have you seen gaps in the market and taken advantage?

Not clear, Violet has released a game app called Game Spot on Bravo. It’s a remake of the American app, the same team went to create the original app instead called Game-Pad, but it shows that they are harder to do than they achieve. So instead of being a hired host, Violet offered to take over the show as a producer, pull me in as a director and do it myself through our WhizzBang company. We felt we could do better than the original, and so we put in the GamePad name slot, but now it’s a whole new app.

Q3 – GamePad is a great app that was created “by gamers for gamers”. Do you intend to create a program that is more mature than the previous broadcast?

Violet really knew a lot about gaming at the time and she was a smart cookie, so the whole culture of GamePad Violet’s idea is important, even if I’m a little confused.

Q4 – The GamePad has four series. Are you disappointed that this program is not being continued for other series?

Yes, we are disappointed because we already have plans for what the next series will involve (Violet is a good planner), but being responsible for everything on production requires a lot of time at work, we have 2 small children. People at that time. So in some ways we were really relieved when the GamePad didn’t happen, we had an idea that it might have disappeared because Bravo had just got engaged to a new program commissioner who wanted to make her stand out with new ideas that She brought it to the station rather than reactivating existing programs on the channel. So we took a break from work for a while and focused on the main thing, the two little balls of energy that revolve around life. Ours.

Q5 – Have you always been a gamer?

I got into gaming in the late 1980s through my work as a children’s TV presenter, I was definitely not a gamer before, even though my father owned a TV and radio shop when I was growing up. Remember he brought home something like Pong. Let me play about nineteen – seventy something, I played it for a while but got bored with it so went out to learn guitar instead.

Q6 – What is your favorite video game of all time?

Drop number 7 I play it on my phone every day I like the quality like Zen which boosts its attractiveness.

Q7 – Are you a SEGA, Nintendo or Amiga guy?

I got into the game through Game Gear and Amiga, so I felt a bit loyal to those brands. I know this is controversial, but I always thought Nintendo was not too cool, too cute for my Rock ‘n roll feel.

Q8 – Do you still play video games today?

See Answer 6

Q9 – Violet Berlin has made a name for herself as the most respected video game presenter in the UK. Marry a big gamer like that?

I’m fine, we are not married yet! But we have been living together since 1999 and have two teenagers, so I think we’re stuck together now, you know, like Ratchet & Clank. Violet doesn’t have much time for games today other than what she writes, and she always lets our kids try them out.

Q10 – Do you play video games together and who is the winner?

We have not played games together for a long time, when we do Violet usually beat me unless it is a driving game when I win that is my skill.

Q11 – How did WhizzBang.tv come about?

Violet & I wrote a profile for a children’s show called Try This, which we put on ITV when they showed interest. Strongly on the show, they asked, “Who’s going to make it?” We said we would ourselves and therefore had to set up a company quickly. This gave us the confidence to tackle the GamePad together. In the end, we never created Try This due to the change of commissioner at CiTV (this kind of thing happens a lot), but it launched us firmly into the world of production.

Q12 – Do you have any future plans to make / show TV shows on video games?

No, not at the moment – Violet is busy writing games and interactive installations for the museum, and I am busy with car-related projects right now.

Q13 – Do you feel there is a current gap in the market for TV shows dedicated to the video game industry?

Yes, but it has to be a real original theme, give it to Charlie Brooker then it will be entertaining.

Q14 – How do you feel about the video game industry today?

If I am honest (and I always have been) from the position I am in now, my vision of the gaming industry is far away, ask me about cars or rockets, Welsh or Slade, and I can talk all day long. Weeks. , Throughout the month.

Q15 – What are you doing right now?

While appearing in the Welsh comedy show on S4C called Caryl A’r Lleill (Caryl & The Others), I was still creating Gareth Jones On Speed, a car and motorcycle podcast I produced for a while. 10 years ago. I am also creating Race To 24, a 12-document series that begins in March 2015, about the team recruiting drivers to race for them in Le Mans 24 Hours this year. I am also performing on some stages for the first time in my career, I am playing as the manager of Tommy Cooper Miff Ferrie in a tour production called Tommy Cooper Show which is getting a lot of attention.
