The Advantages and Disadvantages of Being a QA – Quality Assurance Coordinator
When I was applying for a job online, I found this job opportunity for a shipping and receiving coordinator. I sent my resume and was quickly called back about opening for QA (Quality Assurance Coordinator). I agreed to go to the interview without knowing the job at all. I assumed it had something to do with the quality control of a particular product, I decided to go for it and take my chances. Work is discriminated against these days, what do I have to lose? That was 2 months ago and now I am a proud QA for a successful publishing company.
What is a Quality Assurance Coordinator?
You actually run all day to check the quality of the products that are made. You make sure things are as close to perfect as possible. You look for errors, you check the production sheet and make sure the job number and code match. You need to make sure that employees are doing their job and not let any problems pass. You are a person that no one likes, including supervisors. I used to hear people call us the police or the FBI. You are a person that no one wants to see and it makes everyone a little upset when you are around.
I have found that making friends in this company is not easy, but I must say I understand That it’s kind of funny. As a QA, you have some control and you really have nothing to do with the manager. We have the lead, but we see him only once in two months or so from what I have heard. The quality assurance department is a separate category from everything else in the company. It is like in your little world. It’s like a security guard in a mall or a vegan when dancing. You scare everyone a little bit and no one really wants to interact with you. If you have found and opened for a quality assurance position and are not sure what to expect. This is a first hand look at the pros and cons of becoming a QA.
Advantages of becoming a QA.
If you like control and do not have a boss who always looks over your shoulder, this is the job for you.
Freedom is great. You are on your own schedule and you are not stuck at the machine all day. You can travel a lot, which makes the day pass faster.
If it is a late day, you finish your round faster, which gives you more free time. Some take advantage of this, but I do not. If you want to play on your phone at work, then becoming a QA is the job for you.
The sweet feeling of guilt can make you proud and important. Showing the manager what he does not know about makes you more respectful.
If you are a social butterfly, that is the job for you. You really have the opportunity to communicate with everyone who works for the company and you can flirt with someone who has your eyes.
Work is easy as long as you can focus and keep your eyes open. A sense of control can be a good feeling, too.
Disadvantages of becoming a QA.
You are not your favorite person in the world and I sometimes find it difficult to start a conversation with Someone. They respond like you are a school teacher. They keep it short and simple.
Makes people crazy when you find a little bug that the staff thinks is okay. When you find a problem, the employee is put in place. They all want to get their numbers. When you stop producing, you will be very angry.
You really have no one to help or have any problems. Managers on the floor will answer questions, but you have to remember that they worry more about production than stopping it for minor issues as well. You can make their work a little more stressful that they hate.
If something goes wrong or is wrong, it can be skipped. Who will be the first they will watch QA. You will likely be responsible for a major mistake in production.
If the company has a major collapse. The Quality Assurance Department will be one of the first to go.
You really do not notice that you work hard or give you credit for the hard work you do. No one cares about you. The chances of a good increase or promotion are slim.
Salary is not much. I think it depends on who you are working for. If you are a QA for a car or truck manufacturer, I am sure the salary is very good.
